What Happens During an Initial Aba Evaluation at Home?
An initial in-home ABA evaluation with Heart Core ABA is a comprehensive process designed to understand your child’s unique needs in their natural environment. Led by a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), this assessment serves as the foundation for a personalized therapy plan.
During the evaluation, you can expect the following:
- Direct Observation: The BCBA will spend between 2 to 4 hours in your home observing your child’s natural routines, play, and interactions. This helps them identify your child’s specific strengths and challenges.
- Functional Behavior Assessment (FBA): The clinician performs an FBA to understand the “why” behind certain behaviors. This is a critical step in building a plan that fosters communication, confidence, and independence.
- Parent Interview: The BCBA will conduct an interview with you to discuss your family’s routine, goals, and concerns. We listen closely to your input because your child’s heart matters and family-centered care is a priority.
- Intake Review: Our team will walk you through any necessary intake forms and pre-assessment questionnaires to ensure the BCBA is fully prepared for the visit.
- Insurance Coordination: As part of the initial process, we provide full support for navigating Missouri autism insurance coverage. We typically verify your benefits within 48 hours so you have transparency regarding your coverage before the clinical visit begins.
