How do I Become a Board Certified Behavior Analyst?

To become a BCBA, you must follow these essential steps:
- Earn a Bachelor’s Degree: Start with an undergraduate degree from an accredited institution. We recommend pursuing coursework that covers foundational topics like ethical conduct and behavioral assessment.
- Complete a Verified Master’s Program: You must earn a master’s degree in behavior analysis or a closely related field. It is critical to choose a program with a Verified Course Sequence (VCS) formally approved by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
- Fulfill Supervised Fieldwork: You are required to complete 2,000 hours of supervised fieldwork (or 1,500 hours in a concentrated track). This hands-on experience must be supervised by a qualified BCBA.
